Mañana se abre en Donostia el Nuevo FNAC, con la actuación de un artista bilbaino y los Saint Etienne (de Sarah Cracknell). Un megacentro cultural integrado en un mastodóntico y out-of-tune mall en mitad de la ciudad

Obviamente, mi queja no va contra el Fnac, un negocio como otro cualquiera. Un negocio grande, afirmo, porque por sus compras consiguen los productos más baratos. Ley de vida. Como ley de vida (no soy hipócrita) es pasar por allá para encontrar cosas más o menos difundidas y ahorrarse unos duros.

Pero desde aquí pedimos lo que no suelen hacer los alcaldes (al nuestro, al menos, se le llena la boca afirmando que "estoy con el pequeño comercio, para los que hemos sacado unos vales preciosos para reservar pista de petanca"): Que apoyes a tu pequeño comercio local.

Porque primero desaparecieron los mercados de productos frescos, luego se enterraron pescaderías y charcuterías, se volatilizaron tiendas de ropa, y ahora al gestor donostiarra no se le ocurre otra cosa que "regalar" (de impuestos) espacios a grandes firmas.

¿Sabían que la FNAC ha estado empleando, hasta su inauguración mañana, un espacio destinado a la pequeña empresa tecnológica donostiarra para ubicar sus oficinas?

Pagando muy poco de alquiler de local, uso de teléfono... Ya me dirás, si no pagan ellos, quién lo va a hacer. Y no lo digo porque vengan de fuera, sino porque es un mastodonte comercial. Lo mismo le exigiría a Eroski.

Ahora toca ver desaparecer librerias, tiendas de discos, alguna que otra de DVDs y par de establecimientos informáticos. Tiendas regentadas por gente local (no entraré en lo de vascos o no vascos, que más de uno tendrá el hacha a punto), ideada por gente local, que emplea a gente local. Empresas que apuestan por la diversidad de oferta y la especialización

prefiero pagar un euro más y comprar en una PYME donostiarra. Es mi opción.
